The Sale Racecourse is approx a 2.5-hour drive from Melbourne. Sale Turf Club was established in 1842 and is highly regarded as a top-class venue and a nursery of racing stars like Sky Heights and Makybe Diva. Also known as the Greenwattle Racecourse, the first race recorded was a match race between horses of the two districts pioneers in 1842.
