Wagga Racecourse

Wagga races are held at Wagga Racecourse which is much better known as the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. The NSW Country club holds around 24 meetings a year that are mostly split between the weekends and during the weekdays.

Located around 4.5 – 5 hours from both Sydney and Melbourne, Wagga has a superb country track that is loved by trainers and punters alike.

Wagga races don’t have any Group 1 events but they host their annual Wagga Wagga Gold Cup meeting in May every year.

If travelling via public transport bus 964 from Estella to Wagga Wagga stops at the racecourse. The nearest railway station is Wagga Wagga Station which is on the Southern Countrylink line. The walk from there to the racecourse is approx 3km. Driving from Sydney, it will take you approx 5 hours heading south-west down the Hume Highway.
