Our Belmont Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Race 8 is the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes over 1600m.

Not to Be Mist (Belmont Race 9 No. 12)

With 6 wins from 10 starts, this Danehill Express gelding has a great strike rate. Last campaign he won 3 in a row over 1400m at Ascot then finished 1.5 lengths 4th over 2000m at Pinjarra Park on 11 January. He resumes here from a 22 week break and has placed in both lead-up trials. He goes very well first-up, has the services of William Pike, and should be the one they have to catch.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Perfect Jewel (Belmont Race 8 No. 10):
This five-year-old  Redoubte’s Choice mare can be hard to follow. She resumed from a spell for 2.3 lengths 10th in the Group 3 Roma Cup over 1200m at Ascot on 16 May, then ran on strongly for a narrow win at long odds in the Group 3 Belmont Sprint over 1400m on 30 May where she ran a good closing 400m sectional. She likes this track and if she can repeat that performance she will be in the finish again and is at good each-way odds.

Best Lay

Miss Frost (Belmont Race 3 No. 5):
This four-year-old mare is the early favourite in this 1000m race. She has been favourite at her last 3 starts too abut has only won one of those, despite the riding skills of W Pike. She is drawn nicely bvut has been costly for punters and I fell she is more likely to place than win again here.
