Our Sandown Lakeside Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting
Rising Sphere (Sandown Lakeside Race 1 No. 10)
Rising Sphere is a lightly race galloper having his second start in his second preparation. He found the front when resuming at Geelong and showed a good kick only to be collared late by the Godolphin colt Dickin Medals which was heavily backed. There was a good space back to third. The Lakeside track at Sandown often assists on pace runners, especially early in the day and from barrier one he should be able to settle in the first few and take plenty of running down.

Tarn’s Prince (Sandown Lakeside Race 7 No. 3):
Tarn’s Prince is a talented stayer on the rise and I’m surprised we are getting the price we are here. Granted he loses the services of Jamie Kah but it was hard not to be impressed with his win last start. After finding the one out and one back position he was shuffled back hopelessly on the turn. However he was able to pick himself up and was drawing away on the line. Third up at 2100m looks ideal and with even luck from barrier one will be right in the finish.

Royal Gun Salute (Sandown Lakeside Race 3 No. 3):
Royal Gun Salute was able to break his maiden first up this time in. He had things to suit on that occasion finding a perfect spot in run and also the advantage of racing on his home track. At Moonee Valley last start he presented at the top of the straight but was only fair to the line. This is a competitive benchmark 64 and he is short enough at $4.2 in early markets.
