Our Moonee Valley Horse Racing Tips for Saturday meeting.

Pandemic (Moonee Valley Race 4 No. 7)

Pandemic returns to the races after a 55 day let up. He was a dominant winner of the Christmas Stakes on Boxing Day, then was taking good ground off Fabergino late when dropping back to 1000m in the Kensington Stakes – Fabergino subsequently ran well in a Lightning Stakes.  He has trialed up well, fly’s fresh and is much better suited stepping back up to 1200m.

Each Way

Beltoro (Moonee Valley Race 5 No. 4):

Loved his run in the Australian Guineas.  He ran the second fastest last 200m split of the race and was getting stronger the further they went.  He is bred to eat up 2000m which he sees here for the first time and also gets the addition of blinkers.  Expecting him to run a big race at an each-way price.

Best Lay

The Billionaire (Moonee Valley Race 9 No. 10):

The Billionaire has come up favourite in the last race on the card.  He won a maiden at the start of this preparation and then did a good job last time to lead and keep kicking in a benchmark 64 at Wangaratta.  However, he takes a big step up in class here and although he gets Jamie Kah I think he is well found in early markets.

Barrier 10 with the apprentice aboard does pose some risks but this race looks up for the taking and the track and trip stats

The track is in the heavy range and the rail is +5 metres from the 1100m-450m, and true for the remainder. Best Bet Waterski (Hawkesbury Race 1 No. 9) Good effort when resuming just missing Art Volant who has won again since so the form looks good. Maps well and finds the right race to be breaking maiden in what looks a very suitable field.
