Our Launceston Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Julius (Launceston Race 4 No. 1)
This four-year-old Time For War gelding has three wins from four starts. He never really looked likely when 7.85 lengths 8th over 1200m at Launceston on 23 October, then resumed after 17 weeks for a 1.75 length win over 1100m at Launceston on 24 February. He looks to have more class than the others in this field and should win again.

raced away to the line for a 6 length win over 2100m at Launceston on a soft track on 10 February, then kept going for a 3 length win over 2100m at Launceston on 24 February to bring up 3 wins in a row.  He is flying at the moment and at this track and distance he should win again.

Each Way

Needadollarbill (Launceston Race 5 No. 1):
This four-year-old Wordsmith gelding has one win and four places from ten starts. He was very close when 0.2 length 2nd over 1350m at Devonport on 16 August, then only ground home for 3.85 lengths 4th over 1350m at Devonport on 30 August. Resuming here after 29 weeks he is primed to go and has trialled very well. He looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Ravage (Launceston Race 2 No. 1):
This five-year-old Anacheeva gelding has two wins and seven places from 15 starts and is the early favourite in this BM 60 handicap over 1600m. He finished 0.1, 0.2 length 3rd in a  tight finish over 1400m at Launceston on 21 February, then only got going late for 0.2, 0.5 length 3rd over 1390m at Hobart on 14 March. He is up in weight and offers no value here.

Horse Racing Tips: SA Friday 13th September 2024

Key Comments The track is rated soft and the rail is +2 metres from the 1400m to 1200m,+2 metres from the 800m to 400m and true for the remainder. This is the same as the last meeting on 18th August. Best Bet Reciprocal (Bordertown Race 3 No. 10) Resumed to finish midfield at Murray Bridge when fresh coming from the back of the field. Clearly looking for longer than the 1000m and looks well-suited by the 1200m here. Check odds on SmartB

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Saturday 14th September 2024

Key Comments The track is in the good range. Plenty of features including the Exford Plate (race 2), Cap D'antibes Stakes (race 3), Poseidon Stakes (race 4), Archer Stakes (race 5), Vale Black Caviar Stakes (race 6), Let's Elope Stakes (race 7), Makybe Diva (race 8) and Bobbie Lewis Quality (race 9). Best Bet Growing Empire (Flemington Race 4 No. 1) Very promising runner who won with ease last start and looks suited to this field. Maps for a good run in transit

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Friday 13th September 2024

Key Comments 8 race card taking place. The track is in the soft range. Multiple well priced short favourites take place on this card. The best bet comes up later in the day and brings undeniable claims to what is a solid maiden field. Best Bet November Air (Goulburn Race 7 No. 10) Brings in some really strong form to this deep maiden. Draw makes things tricky but can land on the speed and Collett is booked which is ideal. Should give this

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 13th September 2024

Key Comments 8 races in the card. The track is in the good 4 range. Plenty of quality jockeys riding in the meeting. Best Bet Late Arrival (Geelong Race 8 No. 9) Scored last start by a narrow margin but showed a good turn of foot in doing so and can handle the rise in grade in what is a race lacking depth. Maps well and has more upside than most of these. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
