Our Gold Coast Horse Racing Tips for the 7th of January.
Remlaps Gem (Gold Coast Race 4 No. 1)
Huge odds are on offer here for Remlaps Gem. Its only loss from 7 attempts over this trip was at the end of last prep when it ran 2nd in heavy conditions. I’d have liked a more in form jockey aboard but there simply isn’t a better 900m sprinter in Australia than Remlaps Gem. The $8.50 is worth getting involved with.
Best Each Way
West Of Africa (Gold Coast Race 7 No. 13)
Been with West Of Africa all prep and it continues to race well. This set up looks ideal. It should be able to camp off the speed and have one last crack at them. It has the best turn of foot in this race and the $6.50 is an excellent price. Arantee is the danger.
The Bopper (Gold Coast Race 4 No. 5)
Would have had The Bopper 3x the price in this. It went off the boil for a while but did return with a win last start. While it was an impressive 4 length win this is an enormous leap in grade and it comes up against one of the best 900m sprinters in the country in Remlaps Gem. I’d have their prices the other way around.
Our Pinjarra Scarpside Horse Racing Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments There are 10 races and the rail is in the true position. The feature race is the $150,000 Pinjarra Classic (race 9). Best Bet Silver Back Jack (Pinjarra Scarpside Race 8 No. 1) Silver Back Jack won over 1800m at Ascot 2 starts back, then ran 2nd to a talented mare at his most recent start over 1675m. He'll appreciate the rise in trip and is the leading hope. $3.80
Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Sunday. The track is a Soft 5 and the rail is in the true position. The features are the Gold Sovereign Stakes (race 5) and Tasmanian Oaks over 2100m (race 7). As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight. Best Bet Wings Of Song (Launceston Race 7 No. 1) Made it 4 wins
Our Alice Springs Horse Racing Tips for Saturday's meeting. Key Comments The sand track is rated Good and the weather is fine. The rail is in the true position. Best Bet Don't Be Dramatic (Alice Springs Race 3 No. 2) He's raced 3 times for 2 wins and a 2nd. Last start he bolted in for a 4.3 length win over 1100m here and looks the good thing of the day. $1.55 Best
Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting. Key Comments The track is Good and the rail is +6 metre for the entire circuit. The feature race is the $125,000 Detonator Stakes (race 8). Best Bet Siren Assault (Ascot Race 2 No. 7) This filly led and beat all except the talented Golden Vale on debut then was sent for a spell. She resumes after 17 weeks on the back of 2 excellent trials. Has drawn well and should be hard to beat, $2.50
