Kisukano (Doomben Race 2 No. 1)
This filly has a near-perfect record with 4 wins and a second place from 5 starts. She finished last campaign with a 2 length win in the Jewel 2YO Plate over 1200m at Gold Coast on 14 March, then resumed with an impressive 2.75 length win over 1000m on a heavy track at Sunshine Coast on 11 July. The handicapper hasn’t missed her, giving her 63.5 kg, but with a 3kg claim for Miss Alex Patis she should be able to win again.

Starla (Doomben Race 7 No. 3):
This Snitzel filly trained by Chris Waller has really performed well at her last few outings. She found the front at the 150m and held on to win by a narrow margin over 1300m at Warwick Farm on 13 May, then travelled to Queensland where she burst through on the rail at the 250m and drew clear to win by 1.25 lengths over 1350m at Doomben on 27 June. Mark Du Plessis retains the ride and it would be no surprise to see her win again, making her well worth an each-way bet.

Right orWrong (Doomben Race 3 No. 2):
This eight-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this Open Handicap over 1600m. Despite jumping awkwardly and being bumped, he fought on well for 1,25 lengths, 1.5 lengths 3rd in the Listed Spear Chief Handicap over 1350m at Doomben on 27 June, then he went forward but faded in the straight for 1.4 lengths 4th over 1350m at Ipswich on 18 July. He does go well at this track, but in a field of well-matched older geldings he is far from a good thing.
