Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Charretera (Eagle Farm Race 9 No. 13):

There aren’t many better trainers in Australia that can turn a horse around than Tony Gollan and it was the return of Charretera that sparks plenty of interest here. Well backed and didn’t disappoint, you wanted to be on it for the entire run. Its prior form is very good for a race like this and its fair to say off the last run that Charretera may well be back. Demands plenty of respect and the current $13 is excellent.

Aidensfield (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 9):

Aidesfield has been tricky to catch but I believe a lot of that has come down to it being placed in unsuitable races. It showed plenty of promise earlier on in its career but has since struggled to find that elusive win. I believe coming over to Queensland was a smart move by connections and its prior efforts rate extremely well against this field. If Aidensfield can reproduce what it showed last prep over in Melbourne it will take the power of beating against these. Handling the Eagle Farm track is some query but the $6 looks a great bet.

Best Lay

Good Bean (Eagle Farm Race 6 No. 8):

Good Bean won convincingly last start and does draw to get all the favours here but looks short coming off a maiden win on the synthetic track. Eagle Farm is a completely different set up and many don’t handle the course. There are some horses in this race that are proven at the track and arguably have stronger formlines so Good Bean looks a risk at its current quote.

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Sunday 21st July 2024

Key Comments The track is in the soft range which suits the best bet who has been tough to catch lately but looks a big price stepping down in grade. Best Bet Cross The Rubicon (Hawkesbury Race 8 No. 3) Was a solid run last start when jumping far better and sent to the front. Ridden upside down but didn't mind the tactics. Schofield sticks for the ride, drops in grade and hasn't seen this kind of level for a few years now.

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Saturday 20th July 2024

Key Comments The track is rated good and the rail is +2 metres from the 400m to the 1600m and+1 metre for the remainder. The first race is at 4.59pm AEST. Best Bet Brave Warrior (Toowoomba Race 3 No. 7) Brave Warrior is a consistent galloper who has been runner-up at his last 2 starts. Last start he was picked off in the final strides at this track and trip. Should be fitter now and has drawn the inside barrier. Hard to beat.

Horse Racing Tips: NT Saturday 20th July 2024

Key Comments The feature is the $135,000 NT Derby over 2050m (race 7). The track is sand and is rated good and the weather is fine. Best Bet Whitten (Darwin Race 2 No. 3) Whitten resumed from a let-up to be runner-up over 1200m here on 29th June. She’s nicely drawn and gets a 1.5kg claim for Emma Lines. Will run well. Key Comments Feature races are the Winter Cup over 2000m (race 6) and Mayor's Sprint Open over 1200m (race 8). The track is soft and the rail is +3.5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Lady Damus (Townsville Race 4 No. 7) She’s in great form with 2 wins and 2 places from 4 runs this preparation. Won by 2.3 lengths over 1000m last start and is good enough to win again.
