This three-year-old Snitzel gelding trained by Matthew Dunn has three places from five starts. He resumed from a 26 week spell for 4.3 lengths 4th over 1100m at Kensington on 3 February, then battled on well for 2.78 lengths 2nd behind a strong winner over 1200m at Newcastle on 18 February. Has been gelded and resumes here after a 10 week let-up. Ran 2nd in a recent Rosehill trial and looks ready to win.

Island Bad Boy (Canterbury Race 7 No. 8):
This three-year-old All Too Hard gelding trained by Tony Sergi at Queanbeyan has three wins and a place from his five starts. He knuckled down in the straight for a 1.09 length win over 1300n at Canberra on 31 March, then looked beaten when headed at the 200m but dug deep and fought back for a narrow win in the Guineas Prelude over 1400m at Wagga on 18 April. This is his first metropolitan run but he is a nice type and looks a good each-way bet.

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
