Our Canterbury Park Horse Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Seleque (Canterbury Race 3 No. 3):
This three-year-old Deep Field filly trained by Chris Waller has three wins and four places from nine starts. At the end of last campaign she fought on strongly to prevail late for a 0.45 length win over 1200m at Gosford on 1 April where she had the best last 800m-200m race sectional, then was spelled for 12 weeks. She resumed on a heavy track where she kept coming to find the front at the 200m and went clear for a length win over 1100m at Warwick Farm on 30 June. Rates highly and should win.

Imposing Beau (Canterbury Race 5 No. 11):
This three-year-old Brazen Beau gelding trained by Team Hawkes has one win and one place from four starts. He took over at the 250m and fought on strongly before going down late for a narrow 2nd over 1200m at Newcastle on 5 June, then he raced keen but was beaten at the 300m and finished 6.14 lengths 6th over 1300m at Rosehill on 26 June. Has the speed to overcome his wide draw and should improve on last run.

Off Shaw (Canterbury Race 7 No. 2):

This three-year-old Tobique gelding trained by Bjorn Baker is the early favourite in this BM 72 handicap over 1550m. When resuming from a 17 week spell he finished 1.3 lengths 5th over 1200m at Warwick Farm on heavy going on 14 June, then took over at the 280m but was run down late for 0.55 length 2nd over 1400m at Warwick Farm on heavy going on 30 June. Has a big weight and a wide barrier and I’m prepared to risk him here.

Horse Racing Tips: Happy Valley, Wednesday 15th May 2024

Key Comments There is a 9-race program under the lights at Happy Valley. The rail is in the C position for the meeting, and the skies are clear so the track should be a Good 4. The first race is at 6.40pm Hong Kong time which is 8.40pm AEST. Best Bet Turin Warrior (Happy Valley Race 7 No. 3) Last-start winner at this track and distance. He’s drawn well and Karis Teetan sticks. Strong chance. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Horse Racing Tips: WA Thursday 16th May 2024

Key Comments The track is Good and the rail is +7 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Lifeisbutadream (Northam Race 2 No. 3) She kept chasing and just missed last start at Ascot on a soft track when resuming. Should improve off that run and be tough to beat Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way I'm Nipote (Northam Race 3 No. 5) He placed last start at this track and trip when wide

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Thursday 16th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is in 3 metres. This track is ideal for horses that can sustain a long run to the line. The best bet has been subject to early market support and is coming off a strong 2nd placing. Best Bet Only Old Once (Pakenham Race 2 No. 8) Solid effort on debut when running 2nd and has been heavily tried to go one better in this. Allen rides from barrier 3 and there isn't much depth to this maiden. Expecting

Key Comments The rail is out 12 metres. The track has been playing well lately. The best bet is in the first. Best Bet Charcoals (Sandown Race 1 No. 3) Trials have been rock solid and has come in for plenty of market support.
