This four-year-old Fastnet Rock gelding trained by Bjorn Baker has six wins and five place from 17 starts. He was headed at the 200m but fought back gamely for a narrow win over 1400m at Rosehill on 5 December, then took over at the 350m and kept going for a 1.5 length win over 1400m at Randwick on a soft track on 19 December. He goes well in soft and heavy going and looks ready to make it a hat-trick of wins.

This Wandjina gelding trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott has only had one start. He jumped awkwardly, settled 2nd, was a narrow leader straightening then kicked at the 300m to race away for a 2.8 length win over 1150m at Kensington on a soft track on 17 December. He can handle both the track and the soft going and looks a nice each-way bet.

This Lonhro filly is the early favourite in this 2YO Handicap over 1150m. She is one of the seven runners in the field of 11 that has not raced before, and she won a Canterbury trial on soft going. Others have also shown they can handle rain-affected ground and at her current price there is no value.
