He was looking for a run when straightening and chased well for 0.8 length 2nd over 1400m at Rosehill on a heavy track on 25 July, then was held up early in the straight and kept chasing for 1.3 lengths 2nd over 1500m at Rosehill on a heavy track on 8 August. He drops 2.5 kg from his last run and looks well placed. This is his chance to win.

Taikomochi (Rosehill Race 8 No. 2):
This Snitzel gelding trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott looks ready for this distance now. He rundown in the latter stages of the race to finish 0.8 length, 1.3 lengths 3rd in the Listed Winter Challenge over 1500m at Rosehill on 25 July, then led all the way for a fighting win in the Premier’s Cup Prelude over 1800m at Randwick on a heavy track on 15 August. He was very tenacious in the Prelude and should go well in this.

Overlord (Rosehill Race 7 No. 4):
This Sebring colt from the Chris Waller stable is the early favourite in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality over 1400m. He had four races in his first campaign that ended with 3.9th 4th in the Group 1 JJ Atkins 2YO Plate, but has not had a win yet. He has had two recent trials and was unplaced and this looks a tough assignment first-up. Other runners are much better value.
