Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Black Fantasy (Ascot Race 7 No. 1)
Black Fantasy has a win and four places from his six starts. When resuming from a 17 week spell this three-year-old Blackfriars gelding kept coming gamely through the ruck for 1.7 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 6 February, then came from last for 1.5 lengths 2nd over 1400m at Ascot on 23 February. Steps up in distance and rates highly.

Love Drunk Baby (Ascot Race 5 No. 5):
This four-year-old Bradbury’s Luck gelding has one win and two places from six starts. At the end of last campaign he started to tire at the 200m and faded late for 4.4 lengths 8th over 1100m at Ascot on 13 October. After 19 weeks he resumed for 2.3 lengths 4th after being blocked in the straight over 1100m at Ascot on 23 February. Was a bit unlucky first-up and looks a good each-way bet.

Time Scale (Ascot Race 3 No. 2):
This four-year-old Press Statement mare trained by Simon Miller is the early favourite in this No Metro Wins Last Year Handicap race over 1400m. He made some ground for 3 lengths 5th over 1000m at Ascot on 12 February, then was overhauled late for 1.4 lengths 4th over 1200m at Ascot on 23 February. Don’t think the rise in distance suits, and others offer better value.

Horse Racing Tips: SA Wednesday 1st May 2024
Key Comments The track is rated Soft and the rail is +7 metres the entire circuit and +4 metres in the 1200m chute. Best Bet Southern Shooter (Murray Bridge Race 5 No. 4) Resumed from a 20 week break to run 3rd over 1400m at Balaklava where he was held up several times and ran home well once he saw daylight. The step up to 1600m should suit and he looks a winning chance. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo

Key Comments The track is rated Soft and the rail is +9.5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Mannerheim (Ipswich Race 6 No. 6) He didn’t haven’t the best of luck last start when he got a heavy bump at the start and was tightened in the final stages, but he still managed to place. He has the speed to overcome drawing the widest barrier and rates highly. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson
Horse Racing Tips: VIC Wednesday 1st May 2024
Key Comments The 'Bool carnival continues and the feature on the card is the Wangoom Handicap (race 8). Tricky card to sort out but going for the best bet in the feature who is 3/3 on this track and class can come to the fore. Best Bet Tuvalu (Warrnambool Race 8 No. 1) He is 3/3 on this track and form last prep reads well against these including a length loss behind Pinstriped, a length loss behind Alligator Blood and half a length
