Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
War Warrior (Ascot Race 4 No. 2)
This three-year-old War Chant colt has been runner-up at both of his starts. On debut he wound up slowly for 0.89 length 2nd over 1108m at Bunbury on 31 March, then he ran on for 0.83 length 2nd over 1200m at Ascot on 14 April. He looks ready to break his maiden and should be hard to beat.

Oihana (Ascot Race 7 No. 8):
This six-year-old mare has two wins and six places from 20 starts. She tried hard but tired late for 0.01, 1.62 lengths 3rd over 1300m at York on 5 April, then led but was headed at the 125m for 0.34, 1.09 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Ascot on 14 April. She looks a nice each-way chance again.

Chiclett (Ascot Race 1 No. 1):
This three-year-old Tavistock filly is the early favourite in this 2YO & 3YO No-Metro-wins last year handicap over 1600m. She finished 3.46 lengths 4th over 1800m at Ascot on 17 March, then ran 4.41 lengths 5th over 1400m at Ascot on 3 April. She has only won once in eight starts at the track and others look to have better chances.

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game

Key Comments 8 race card with a few short favourites that look hard to beat. The best bet comes up in race 5 and is knocking on the door for a win. Best Bet Subrising (Ballarat Race 5 No. 6) Comes off the back of 2 second placings and Egan will ride from the wide draw. A lot to like about the past few runs and looks a better hope than the favourite who may just get too far back in this.
