Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Trevern (Ascot Race 4 No. 1)
This four-year-old Snippetson gelding trained by Jim Taylor has two wins and four places from his nine starts. When resuming from a 14 week break he led all the way for a 2.2 length win over 1100m at Northam on 16 September, then won by 0.7 length over 1100m at Northam on 27 September. Goes well on a soft track and should bring up a hat-trick here.

Each Way

Ginger Flyer (Ascot Race 6 No. 2):
This five-year-old Gingerbread Man mare trained by Simon Miller has four wins and eight places from 15 starts. She kept chasing for 0.9 length 2nd over 1300m at Belmont on 25 September, then took a split and surged ahead late for a 0.9 length win over 1600m at Ascot on 9 October. She goews well at this track with three wins and two places from five starts here, and looks a great each-way chance.

Best Lay

Sparkling Blue (Ascot Race 5 No. 8):
This three-year-old Foxwedge filly has only raced once and won. She levelled up at the 200m and drew clear in the final 100m for a 1.8 length win in a 1300m maiden race at Belmont on 25 August. Since then she has run 3rd in a Lark Hill trial on 18 October. She will find this a lot harder than her previous race and I am willing to risk her here.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 19th May 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Weldborough (Devonport Race 9 No. 3) Won by 2.5 lengths over
