Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Kaptain Kaos (Ascot Race 8 No. 5)
This three-year-old Demerit gelding has one win and two places from four starts. At the end of last campaign he faded in the final 150m for 2.75 lengths 6th over 1200m at Bunbury on 20 December. He resumed for a 2.07 length win over 1200m at Bunbury on 11 March where he had the best final 400m of the meeting. With the inside barrier and Chris Parnham aboard he looks perfectly placed to win again.

Carabinier (Ascot Race 5 No. 3):
This four-year-old gelding trained by Paul Jordan at Ascot has raced 17 times for three wins and two places. Last campaign he struggled in the straight for 10.7 lengths 14th over 1400m at Ascot on 7 November, then was slowly away and finished 5.19 lengths 7th over 1300m at Northam on 19 November. He resumes here from a 17 week spell and won a recent trial at Belmont. Last campaign he won first-up last campaign and goes well fresh. He is worth an each-way bet.

Great Waters (Ascot Race 7 No. 1):
This four-year-old Dundeel gelding has three wins and three places from 14 starts and is the early favourite in this Class 3 Handicap over 1600m. He battled evenly for 3.7 lengths 7th over 2200m at Ascot on 21 November, then finished 5.98 lengths 7th over 2200m at Ascot on 5 December. Resuming from a 15 week break he looks a risk with the big weight and a wide draw.

Key Comments The track is in the soft range. The rail is in the true position. The best bet lobs in the first and is ready to win. Should get every hope from the kind draw. Best Bet Buy Me A Birkin (Coonabarabran Race 1 No. 6) Hasn't missed the placings this prep from 3 goes and won't get a better chance to win than this. Smart use of the claim, maps well and simply weighted to beat this lot off the back

Key Comments Very keen on the chances of the best bet who should relish getting off heavy ground and looks well placed racing back on its home track. Best Bet Zaragoza (Kembla Grange Race 7 No. 2) Surprised it isn't favourite. Enormous win 2 runs back beating a smart one on this track. Found the going too tough fresh but but bumped into a handy field including The Black Cloud who has won convincingly up in grade since. Tough draw but has the

Key Comments The feature is the $50,000 Metric Mile over 1600m (race 7). The track is sand and is rated good and the weather is fine. Best Bet Miss Polly (Darwin Race 1 No. 6) She came from the outside barrier to be runner-up on debut over 1200m here. Emma Lines rides again and has a 1.5 kg claim, and this time she has draw the rails. Hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson
