Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Invictus Domini (Ascot Race 8 No. 2)
This Playing God gelding is very consistent with four wins and five places from 10 starts. At the end of his campaign in 2020 he forged to the line for a 0.9 length win over 1618m at Geraldton on 10 December, making it four wins from five starts that campaign. He resumed from a 12 week break for 0.1 length 2nd over 1400m at Ascot on 7 March 2021, where he was outkicked in the final strides and bled. After a year off the track he is having his first run for trainer George Dupre and has trialled nicely. Showed lots of talent before he bled and is the key player here.

Each Way

Keeper Sweet (Ascot Race 6 No. 3):
This four-year-old Gingerbread Man mare has one win and four places from 13 starts.  She got to the lead but was grabbed on the line for 0.3 length 2nd over 1650m at Belmont on 9 February, then ran a similar race for 0.2 length 2nd over 1400m at Ascot on 9 March. Has a win and four places from her last five starts and looks a solid each-way hope again.

Overthought (Ascot Race 9 No. 9):
This six-year-old mare trained by Fenella Martin is the early favourite in this RTG 66+ Handicap race over 2200m. She was fractious in the gates, jumped awkwardly and peaked late for 3.8 lengths 7th over 1800m at Ascot on 26 February, then joined in approaching the turn before peaking and fading in the final 200m for 5.6 lengths 7th over 2100m at Ascot. I don’t think the step up in distance suits the way she has tired at the end of her last couple, and others offer better value.

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments There are 9 races including the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (race 8). The track is soft and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Angel Capital (Doomben Race 6 No. 5) Debuted for a 2.3 length win at Cranbourne where he came from last and wound up from the top of the straight to flash home down the outside. Jamie Kah sticks and he looks a lovely colt. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Key Comments 2nd day of the Scone Carnival. Plenty of features including the Woodlands Stakes (race 3), Denise Joy Stakes (race 6), Ortensia Stakes (race 7), the Dark Jewel Classic (race 8) and Luskin Star Stakes (race 9). Best Bet Jedibeel (Scone Race 10 No. 8) Lovely return effort when being backed off the map and showed off a fine turn of foot. Can go right on with things here and should get a nice tow into it from barrier 7. Hard to

Horse Racing Tips: SA Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments There are 9 races on the Parks circuit. The track is rated good and the rail is +3 metres from the 1000m -to the winning post and true for the remainder. Best Bet Easy Campese (Morphettville Race 3 No. 4) Easy Campese has been runner-up at his last 3 races and is ready to win. With the 2kg claim for Alana Livesay he will only carry 52.5 kg down from 59kg last start and hopefully that will make all the difference.

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The feature races include the Straight Six (race 7) and the Andrew Ramsden (race 8). The best bet looks well placed to bounce back and very hard to beat if finding its old form. Best Bet Niance (Flemington Race 3 No. 7) Had excuses last start when bungling the jump. Looks really hard to beat if finding its old form and there was so much to like about the wins prior. Looks way over the
