Our Belmont Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Irritable Rodnee (Belmont Race 5 No. 3)
This four-year-old Zoffany gelding trained by Stephen Miller has two wins and three 2nd places from nine starts. At the end of last campaign he finished 4 lengths 9th over 1400m at Ascot on 20 January, then was spelled for 24 weeks. He resumed with a 2.23 length win over 1400m at Pinjarra Park on 8 July on a heavy track. That was a tough win and he has won second-up before. Looks the likely winner.

Each Way

Diablerie (Belmont Race 7 No. 4):
This eight-year-old New Approach gelding has eight wins and 17 places from 65 starts. He ran on strongly for 0.16, 1.58 lengths 3rd over 1200m on soft going at Ascot on 12 May, then had an eight week let-up. He was slowly away and held up in traffic before making some ground in the straight for 6.12 lengths 6th over 1200m at Belmont on 10 July. Normally goes well second-up and looks worth an each-way bet here.

Best Lay

Ghobella (Belmont Race 2 No. 4):
This three-year-old  Blackfriars filly is the early favourite in this Class 1 Handicap over 1700m. She got back 2nd last on the rails and weaved through the field for 0.78, 0.57 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Northam on 1 July, then raced up to hit the lead at the top of the straight and fought gamely but was swamped in the final 50m to finish 1.3 lengths 4th over 1400m on a heavy track at Belmont on 14 July. She will probably place again but with only one win from 11 starts I am prepared to risk her at this price.

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments There are 9 races including the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (race 8). The track is soft and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Angel Capital (Doomben Race 6 No. 5) Debuted for a 2.3 length win at Cranbourne where he came from last and wound up from the top of the straight to flash home down the outside. Jamie Kah sticks and he looks a lovely colt. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Key Comments 2nd day of the Scone Carnival. Plenty of features including the Woodlands Stakes (race 3), Denise Joy Stakes (race 6), Ortensia Stakes (race 7), the Dark Jewel Classic (race 8) and Luskin Star Stakes (race 9). Best Bet Jedibeel (Scone Race 10 No. 8) Lovely return effort when being backed off the map and showed off a fine turn of foot. Can go right on with things here and should get a nice tow into it from barrier 7. Hard to

Horse Racing Tips: SA Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments There are 9 races on the Parks circuit. The track is rated good and the rail is +3 metres from the 1000m -to the winning post and true for the remainder. Best Bet Easy Campese (Morphettville Race 3 No. 4) Easy Campese has been runner-up at his last 3 races and is ready to win. With the 2kg claim for Alana Livesay he will only carry 52.5 kg down from 59kg last start and hopefully that will make all the difference.

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The feature races include the Straight Six (race 7) and the Andrew Ramsden (race 8). The best bet looks well placed to bounce back and very hard to beat if finding its old form. Best Bet Niance (Flemington Race 3 No. 7) Had excuses last start when bungling the jump. Looks really hard to beat if finding its old form and there was so much to like about the wins prior. Looks way over the
