Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Axel ‘r’ Eight (Ascot Race 5 No. 2)
This five-year-old Gingerbread gelding is racing well at the moment. He led all the way for a 1.87 length win over 2000m at Bunbury on 11 February, then was overpowered in the last 100m to finish 1.31, 0.42 lengths 3rd over 2038m at Bunbury on 25 February. He is rock hard fit and should win again here.

Requisition (Ascot Race 3 No. 7):
This six-year-old Trade Fair gelding has raced 28 times for four win and three places, and all wins have been over this distance. He tried hard to finish 0.93 lengths 2nd over 1000m at Ascot on 10 February, then ran on strongly and drew clear late for a 0.94 length win over 1000m at Pinjarra Park on 21 February. He’s in great form at the moment and is well worth an each-way wager.

Key Comments There is a 9-race program under the lights at Happy Valley. The rail is back to the A position for the meeting, and there is heavy rain forecast in the lead-up so the track could deteriorate. The first race is at 6.40pm Hong Kong time which is 8.40pm AEST. Best Bet Copartner Prance (Happy Valley Race 7 No. 6) Copartner Prance has won his last 2 at this track and distance in Class 4 grade. Steps up to Class 3 here

Horse Racing Tips: SA Wednesday 1st May 2024

Key Comments The track is rated Soft and the rail is +7 metres the entire circuit and +4 metres in the 1200m chute. Best Bet Southern Shooter (Murray Bridge Race 5 No. 4) Resumed from a 20 week break to run 3rd over 1400m at Balaklava where he was held up several times and ran home well once he saw daylight. The step up to 1600m should suit and he looks a winning chance. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Wednesday 1st May 2024

Key Comments The track is rated Soft and the rail is +9.5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Mannerheim (Ipswich Race 6 No. 6) He didn’t haven’t the best of luck last start when he got a heavy bump at the start and was tightened in the final stages, but he still managed to place. He has the speed to overcome drawing the widest barrier and rates highly. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson
