Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature event is the Scenic Blast Stakes over 1200m (race 7).

Prince Devoutly (Ascot Race 6 No. 7)
This five-year-old gelding trained by Grant and Alana Williams has had six starts for three wins and two places. He wound up steadily for a 0.48 length win over 1000m at Northam on 30 September 2019 to bring up three wins in a row, then was off the track for 67 weeks. Resuming he was over-racing before running on strongly for 1.39 lengths 6th over 1000m at Ascot on 16 January where he had the best final 400m of the meeting. He has drawn the inside barrier and should be right in the finish.

Each Way

Our Danni (Ascot Race 3 No. 4):
This three-year-old All American filly has three wins and four places from 14 starts. She ran on strongly to take the lead at the 200m and score a 3.14 length win over 1000m at Ascot on 23 December, then took over at the 200m and held on for a 0.13 length win over 1100m at Ascot on 2 January. She is definitely worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Amelia’s Chant (Ascot Race 2 No. 8):
This two-year-old War Chant filly is the early favourite in this 2YO Plate over 1100m. She has only had one start where she was sent out as favourite and joined the lead at the turn but tired late to finish 2.32 lengths 5th over 1100m at Ascot on 16 January. She will benefit from the experience but is no sure thing and others represent better value.

Key Comments There is an 8-race program under the lights for the first Happy Valley meeting for the Hong Kong new racing year. The rail is in the A position for the meeting, and with light showers forecast forecast the surface should be good. The first race is at 7.10pm Hong Kong time which is 9.10pm AEST.. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Thursday 12th September 2024

Key Comments The track is in the soft range. The rail is in the true position. The best value looms at large odds to roll the short favourite and has trialled up very nicely. Best Bet Naval Academy (Warrnambool Race 8 No. 7) Strong effort when resuming in a higher grade than this behind a smart galloper. Started a favourite that day, will be strips fitter for the run and should prove hard to hold out in this suitable race. Check odds

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Thursday 12th September 2024

Key Comments The best bet comes up in the second of the race. The track is in the good range and the rail is in the true position. Expecting all runners to have their chance on this typically fair playing track. Best Bet Mayne (Hawkesbury Race 2 No. 2) Strong debut running well above market expectation when running second to a smart one. Barrier 11 is tricky but Schiller sticks in the saddle and this race looks within reach. Keep an eye on
