Best Bets

Our Gawler Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Singleton Park  (Gawler Race 5 No. 4)
This three-year-old Sweynesse gelding trained by Phillip Stokes has one win and two places from 10 starts. He lost position and battled away evenly for 4.4 lengths 7th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 23 June, then was held up from the turn to the 200m before working home nicely for 0.3 length 2nd over 1600m at Murray Bridge on 3 July. Has drawn barrier one and looks a great chance here.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Zipadee (Gawler Race 7 No. 6):
This four-year-old Zebedee mare trained by Darren Bonetti at Port Augusta has one win and four places from 16 starts. She fought hard but was no match in the final 100m and finished 3.6 lengths 4th over 1100m at Port Augusta on 6 June, then was let down at the top of the straight and drew well clear for a 5.6 length win in a maiden plate over 1100m at Port Augusta on 20 June. She has a 3kg claim and should be able to place here.

Best Lay

Call Me Archer (Gawler Race 8 No. 3):
This three-year-old Ambidexter gelding trained by Shayne Cahill at Strathalbyn is the early favourite in this BM 54 handicap over 1506m. When resuming after 15 weeks he battled away for 1, 0.4 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Balaklava on 30 June, then worked to the line without threatening for 3.4 lengths 5th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 14 July. On a seven day back-up and offers no value at the current price.

Best Bet | Race 6 #11 So Clever Listed as first emergency but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get a run. This John Moore-trained 4yo has won his only two starts and looks to have a bright future. He handled the step up from maiden to Class 1 with ease when winning at Ipswich a fortnight ago and the form around him looks solid with the second place-getter (Super Gorgeous) coming out and winning again. This looks a very winnable BM72 for a horse on the rise such as

Best Bets Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend. Pindaric (Morphettville Race 4 No. 5) This four-year-old Fastnet Rock gelding trained by Michael Hickmott at Murray Bridge has won all five of his starts. At the end of last campaign he raced three wide with no cover and battled gamely for a narrow win over 1200m at Morphettville on 6 February. After 21 weeks he resumed with a 0.2 length win over 1200m at Murray Bridge. Three of his wins were on soft tracks and he will

Best Bets Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for the weekend. Hinged (Doomben Race 1 No. 1) This two-year-old Worthy Cause filly trained by Michael Nolan at Toowoomba has four wins and two places from six starts. She began well and led narrowly and despite hanging in she drew away late for a 1.3 length win over 1350m at Ipswich on 2 July, then she hit the front and hung in the final 300m but held on for a 0.5 length win over 1350m at Doomben on 10
