Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
Taken Off (Morphettville Race 6 No. 1)
This four-year-old Toorak Toff gelding trained by Phillip Stokes has won three of his five starts. He resumed after 37 weeks for 2.3 lengths 4th over 1100m at Morphettville where he came from last and worked home as the widest runner, then he was steadily improving when badly held up and drove very hard when clear to win by 0.1 length over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 5 September. Returning after a 13 week break he should go well fresh and be very hard to beat.

Star Status (Morphettville Race 7 No. 7):
This five-year-old Medaglia D’Oro gelding came clear in the final 250m and won by 2.1 lengths over 1950m at Morphettville Parks on 7 November. Next start he was sent out as favourite at the same track and distance but weakened out over the final 200m to finish 0.3, 3.5 lengths 3rd on 25 November. He carries 4kg less here and looks a nice each-way bet.

Harpuna (Morphettville Race 5 No. 3):
This four-year-old Kuroshio gelding trained by Peter Hardacre at Mount Gambier is the early favourite in this BM 64 Handicap over 1200m. He worked home solidly behind an all the way winner for 2 lengths 2nd over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 24 October, then sped to the lead but was run down over the last 50m for 0.75 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 20 November. He will run well but there is no value at the short price.
