Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Pindaric (Morphettville Race 4 No. 5)
This four-year-old Fastnet Rock gelding trained by Michael Hickmott at Murray Bridge has won all five of his starts. At the end of last campaign he raced three wide with no cover and battled gamely for a narrow win over 1200m at Morphettville on 6 February. After 21 weeks he resumed with a 0.2 length win over 1200m at Murray Bridge. Three of his wins were on soft tracks and he will be very hard to beat.

Refreshed  (Morphettville Race 7 No. 1):
This four-year-old Snitzel mare trained by Ben Brisbourne at Wangaratta has two wins and six places from 13 starts. She was out kicked but kept fighting to the line for 2.5 lengths 2nd on a heavy track over 1400m at Echuca on 26 June, then led most of the way but couldn’t hold on and finished a length 2nd over 1400m at Morphettville Parks on 17 July. On a seven day back-up and looks a great each-way bet.

Best Lay

Great Leveller (Morphettville Race 6 No. 1):
This three-year-old Stratum gelding has three wins and five places from 13 starts and is the early favourite in this 3YO BM 62 handicap over 1050m. He took over at the 150m but was gathered in for 0.5 length 3rd over 1050m at Morphettville on 26 June, then finished 2.3 lengths 5th over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 17 July. Even with the 3kg claim he has a big weight and I rate others to beat him.

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 18th April 2025

Key Comments The track is in the good range. The best bet has been having a very good prep and looks superbly weighted dropping down a few grades. Best Bet Bold Response (Cranbourne Race 5 No. 2) Maps well from the draw and should appreciate this drop in grade. Weighted well after the claim and looks nicely placed against this lot. Should come into good market support. Analyst: Bryce Parker Each Way
