Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend. The feature is the Spring Stakes (race 6).

Motell (Morphettville Race 5 No. 5)
This five-year-old Uncle Mo gelding trained by Jon O’Connor has four wins and seven places from 19 starts. He ran on from the back of the field for 3rd on a heavy track over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 17 July, then came from near last to come clear in the final 100m and win by 2.3 lengths over 1600m at Morphettville on heavy going on 31 July. Rates highly with Jason Holder aboard and looks well-placed to win again.

Each Way

Clap  (Morphettville Race 7 No. 2):
This four-year-old Night Of Thunder gelding trained by Richard & Chantelle Jolly has two wins and one place from six starts. He got to the lead early on the heavy track and kept going for a narrow win over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 17 July, then led narrowly going for home but weakened out late for 2.4 lengths 4th over 1500m at Morphettville on 31 July. He returns to a shorter trip and looks a great each-way chance.

Best Lay

Kong (Morphettville Race 9 No. 1):
This four-year-old Jungle Ruler gelding trained by Ryan Balfour has won one of his three starts and is the early favourite in this BM 60 handicap over 1100m. He came from near last for a 1.2 length win on a heavy track over 1200m at Kilmore on 25 March then was spelled. When resuming he made some ground from well back to finish 5.5 lengths 6th in the Listed Lightning Stakes over 1050m at Morphettville on 31 July. With several last-start winners in this race he will find it challenging.

Key Comments The rail is true and the conditions are in the soft range. A 9 race card takes place and the jockeys challenge looks an even spread of chances. The best bet looks well placed to notch up another win. Best Bet She's Pretty Rich (Wangaratta Race 4 No. 3) Doesn't win out of turn but did 2 starts back and again put in a solid effort last run in Morphetville. Looks well placed here on the weights scale and should give

Best Bet Levar (Gatton Race 1 No. 4) Levar was a close 3rd at Ipswich at his only start. From the inside barrier he should go straight to the front and should be able to stay there. Top rated. Best Bet Processio (Pinjarra Race 2 No. 6) This filly was a neck 2nd when resuming over 1200m at Bunbury on 2nd June. There was a 6 length gap to 3rd. Looks a strong chance here. Key Comments Suitable track for those who can sustain a long finale. The rail is in 3 metres from the 1100m mark to the winning post and true for the remainder. The track is in the soft range. The best bet brings in some very strong form lines. Best Bet Recruiter (Kembla Grange Race 5 No. 4) Tough draw to overcome but love the form lines around this runner with 3 horses to have subsequently run and won including Art Volant and Waterski
