Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Shosha (Doomben Race 4 No. 3)
This five-year-old Deep Impact mare trained by Tony Gollan has one win and one place from five starts. She hadn’t raced for 72 weeks when she led into the straight but faded in the last 100m to finish 2.2 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Gold Coast on 24 July, then won by a comfortable 1.25 lengths over 1630m at Doomben on 11 August. Looks nicely placed here and should win.

Leadership Spill (Doomben Race 6  No. 2):
This five-year-old Top Echelon gelding trained by Lee Freedman has had four wins and five places from nine starts. He was caught wide and didn’t finish off for 7th over 1050m at Doomben on 7 August, then was a 1.25 length winner over 1100m at Beaudesert on 17 August. Fitter now, he has won at this track before and looks a good each-way bet.

Nishikori (Doomben Race 5 No. 11):
This four-year-old Real Impact  gelding trained by Matthew Dunn has two wins and three places from seven starts and is the early favourite in this BM 70 handicap over 1660m. He led on the rails and fought on for a 1.8 length win over 1250m at Ballina on a heavy track on 22 July, then led at the turn but faded for 1.4 lengths 3rd over 1500m at Eagle Farm on 14 August. Blinkers come off but he hasn’t won past 1400m. Others look better value,

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker

Key Comments The rail is true. The track is in the soft range. This track usually favours those on speed. Best Bet Final Atom (Horsham Race 7 No. 1) Should land up on speed and prove hard to catch. Walters steers from the good draw and she is 3 rides aboard for 2 seconds. Hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker Each Way Bubble Palace (Horsham Race 6 No. 5) Should
