This four-year-old Shamexpress gelding trained by David Vandyke has had three wins from four starts. He began well, led to the home turn and drew away for an easy 2.3 length win over 1000m at Sunshine Coast on 25 September before a 26 week spell. On resuming he led most of the way for a 2.25 length win over 1110m at Doomben on 27 March. He does indeed look like a smart one and only bad luck can beat him here.

Better Get Ready (Gold Coast Race 5 No. 5):
This three-year-old Better Than Ready gelding has two wins and two places from seven starts. He led all the way and kicked strongly for a 2.8 length win over 1200m at Toowoomba on 16 April, then raced 3rd until the home turn and did best in the final stages for a 0.5 length win over 1200m at Toowoomba on 28 April. Is going nicely and looks a solid each-way bet.

Tamilaide (Gold Coast Race 7 No. 12):
This three-year-old Adelaide gelding is the early favourite in this Class 2 handicap over 1300m. On debut he won a 1200m maiden over 1200m at Murwillumbah by 4.6 lengths on 31 January, then ran on for 1.25 lengths 2nd over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 25 February. Resumes here after 10 weeks and will find this tough from barrier 18. Others offer better value.
