This five-year-old Shamexpress gelding trained by David Vandyke has five wins from six starts. He won by 5.5 lengths over 1100m on heavy going over 1100m at the Gold Coast on 12 May, then looked to be in a race of his own when he won by 5 lengths over 1200m at Doomben on 2 June. Resumes from a 12 week break and is well-placed to continue on his winning streak.

Contemptuous (Doomben Race 1 No. 10):
This five -year-old stallion trained by Steven O’Dea & Matthew Hoysted has three wins and four places from eight starts. At the end of last campaign he led from the 800m to win by a comfortable 2.3 length margin over 1200m at Ipswich on 16 April. He resumed for 0.4 length 2nd over 1050m at Doomben on 7 August and looks a nice each-way chance here.

Desert Lord (Doomben Race 8 No. 4):
This seven-year-old High Chaparral gelding is the early favourite in this Open Handicap over 1350m. When resuming from a 21 week spell he won by a length over 1200m at Ipswich on 19 June, then he fought on for 1.1 lengths 3rd in the Listed Glasshouse Handicap over 1400m at Sunshine Coast on 11 July. Resumes from a six week let-up and others offer better value.

Best Bet Hypeman (Cranbourne Race 8 No. 6) Won nicely breaking maiden and looks progressive enough to go on with things here. Key Comments The feature race is the Scone Cup (race 8). The rail is in the true position. The best bet looks a sure thing. Best Bet La Pleine Lune (Scone Race 5 No. 3) Absolutely romped in on debut. Concede it was in the right part of the track when the rail as hot however the race rated well, it had plenty more to give and the runner up has walked in since. Looks the good thing of all good things.
