Our Canterbury Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Best Bets

Tinnie Winnie (Canterbury Race 4 No. 5)

This four-year-old So You Think mare from the Chris Waller stable has three wins and two places from six starts. She took over at the 300m and fought on well for a 0.6 length win over 2000m at Hawkesbury on 15 March, then had a 10 week let-up. She led all the way for a 3.3 length win over 1550m at Canterbury on heavy going on 25 May and is going for a hat-trick here. Strong claims.

Each Way

Sunborn (Canterbury Race 6 No. 2)

Sunborn chased hard to find the front and kept going for a 2.2 length win over 1100m at Randwick on 23 April on heavy going, then finished 17 lengths back from the winner over 1200m at Rosehill on 21 May where she didn’t handle the heavy track. She is hard to follow but from the inside barrier and with High Bowman riding she looks worth an each-way bet.

$6.00

Best Lay

Sirens Star (Canterbury Race 2 No. 7)

This Star Witness filly from the Jason Coyle stable has opened favourite in this 3YO Fillies Maiden plate over 1250m. Like half of the field, she is unraced. She has  beaten a total of one horse home in two trials and is an unknown quantity on heavy going. Given all this I am prepared to risk her.

$3.75
