Best Bets

Our Canberra Horse Racing Tips for this Friday’s meeting.

Super Riff (Canberra Race 7 No. 6)

Gone a bit left field for the best bet and I think the price has some meat on it. The son of Super One got the winkers on for the first time last start and I really liked his run. He sat three wide with cover before peeling the widest in the straight and looking the winner around 150m out but I think the heavy track mixed with the wide run just took its toll late against Dream Game, who had a kinder run throughout. I think he can get a nicer run here and I think there should be enough pace to bring him into the race. Think he is worth a speck at the price.

Current Price: $7.50

Best Each Way

Chaotic Beauty (Canberra Race 6 No.7)

I thought this girl’s first-up run was very good when 0.2 of a length off the winner in fourth, in a race where she missed the kick by two lengths. She was the widest on turning and finished off the race brilliantly. She gets the barrier blanket the first time to try and help her in the barriers and gets a nice senior jockey change to Nick Heywood. She has drawn well, so if they can get away nice enough, I expect Heywood to sit her closer in the run. I do concede she is a slight risk at the barriers and has had 39 days between runs due to abandonment, but the stable generally keeps them fit. I will be saving on the favourite Burgundy Girl, but I thought this girl was worth a risk.

Current Price: $11.00

Key Comments The track is rated soft and the rail remains in the true position. The feature is the $75,000 Mackay Newmarket over 1300m (race 7). Best Bet General Wolffe (Mackay Race 5 No. 5) He won at Rockhampton 2 starts back then was runner-up there last start. Tahlia Fenton has had success on him previously and he looks a winning chance. Horse Racing Tips: WA Friday 26th July 2024

Key Comments The dirt track is rated Good and the rail remains in the true position. Best Bet Thermosphere Lad (Broome Race 4 No. 1) He won his maiden by 4 lengths when we had him as our Best Bet last outing over 1435m at Broome. He led all the way last time and will probably do the same again. Hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Campfire Jack (Broome Race

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 26th July 2024

Key Comments The track is in the soft range. The rail is out 9 metres from the 1700-800m mark and out 11m for the remainder. The best bet kicks off in the first of the day and showed plenty on debut. Should prove hard to stave off in a race like this. Best Bet Henry's Blade (Geelong Race 1 No. 2) Promising runner who resumes off a break. Really good effort on debut running 4th in a much stronger race than this. Maps
