AFL ROUND 8 PREVIEW

Greater Western Sydney $1.65 v Richmond $2.20

I like the Great Western Sydney at the line here. The Giants have lost their last two games but if we dig deeper these have been to two sides who are right in premiership contention. Prior to this they beat Collingwood who are the current premiership favourites and the likely return of star forward Toby Greene from injury will put GWS close to full strength.

The Tigers on the other hand have been beating up on lower ranked sides. They have won their last three but lost yet another premiership solider last week in Josh Caddy with a hamstring injury – he joins the likes of Trent Cotchin, Bachar Houli, Shane Edwards and Toby Nankervis on the sidelines. The Tigers depth is now being seriously tested.

The venue is also a very important factor in any Richmond game. Historically the Tigers are a much better side at the MCG – this game is being played at the Giants home ground. The Giants have won their past two games against Richmond at this venue.

  • Suggested Bet: Greater Western Sydney at the line (-7.5)
  • Odds: $1.91
