Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Star Patrol (Doomben Race 1 No. 8)
This three-year-old Starspangledbanner gelding trained by Kacy Fogden has two places from four starts. He ran on strongly pairing off at the 150m to just miss for 0.2 length 2nd over 1300m at Sunshine Coast on 12 September, then was 8th on the home turn and ran on well but gave them too big a start and finished 0.9 length 3rd over 1200m at Doomben on 26 September. With two placings at his last two starts he looks the leading hope in this 3YO maiden plate.

Leisa Louise (Doomben Race 3  No. 8):
This five-year-old Dundeel mare trained by Toby & Trent Edmonds has two wins and six places from 14 starts. She made some ground from well back for 2.8 lengths 5th over 1350m at Doomben on 1 September, then wound up steadily to just miss for 0.1 length 2nd over 1600m at Sunshine Coast on 19 September. Has placed at all three starts over this distance and looks a nice each-way bet.

The Big Goodbye (Doomben Race 5 No. 4):
This four-year-old gelding trained by Robert Heathcote has three wins and seven places from 11 starts and is the early favourite in this Class 3 handicap over 1200m. He worked home from well back to grab 2nd over 1200m at Gawler on 10 July, then was 2nd at the home turn and tried hard but couldn’t reach the front for 0.1 length 2nd over 1200m at Doomben on 4 September. Doesn’t offer value at the current price.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 28th April 2024

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game

Key Comments There are 7 races on a Good track where the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Lord Valen (Strathalbyn Race 2 No. 3) He’s been runner-up at both starts this campaign, at Murray Bridge then Balaklava. He gets his chance to lose his maiden status here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Tennessee Maggie (Strathalbyn Race 4 No. 12) Tennessee Magic was runner-up at Gawler last start and should

Key Comments The feature is the $100,00 The Road To The Jericho Cup WA Qualifier (race 6). The track is rated Soft and the rail is +2 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Demito (Albany Race 3 No. 3) She is going for a hat-trick after winning at Albany then Narrogin. Suited by barrier 2 and should be hard to beat. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 28th April 2024

Key Comments 8 race card with a few short favourites that look hard to beat. The best bet comes up in race 5 and is knocking on the door for a win. Best Bet Subrising (Ballarat Race 5 No. 6) Comes off the back of 2 second placings and Egan will ride from the wide draw. A lot to like about the past few runs and looks a better hope than the favourite who may just get too far back in this.
