Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Front Money (Doomben Race 6 No. 6)
This four-year-old Charge Forward mare trained by Bryan and Daniel Guy has two wins and seven place from 13 starts. She battled on for 0.1, 7.25 lengths 3rd over 1350m at Doomben on 2 June where she lost a plate, then led into the straight and fought hard to go down late for a narrow 2nd over 12oon at Doomben on 23 June. She drops in weight here and should win.

Alatar (Doomben Race 8  No. 4):
This four-year-old All Too Hard gelding has had six starts for two wins. He came from well back to finish 1.35 length 6th over 1400m at Gold Coast on 12 June, then came from well back to hit the front at the 100m and win by a comfortable 1.25 lengths over 1600m at Eagle Farm on 30 June. He looked good winning last time out and is a great each-way chance.

Brabham (Doomben Race 7 No. 7):
This four-year-old Snitzel gelding trained by Tony Sears at Toowoomba has three wins and two place from eight starts and is the early favourite in this BM 75 handicap over 1350m. At the end of last campaign he was a narrow winner in a field of 5 over 1600m at Sunshine Coast on 22 January. Resuming after 21 weeks he started favourite but finished 4.3 lengths 7th over 1200m at Doomben on 23 June. He has won a trial since then, but offers no value at the short price.

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
