Our Warrnambool Horse Racing Tips for Thursday’s meeting.

Day 3 of the Warrnambool Carnival featuring the Warrnambool Cup.

Fighting Harada (Warrnambool Race 8 No. 6)

This five-year-old gelding trained by Mick Price has five wins and three places from 11 starts, and has won all three starts this campaign. He settled 4th then sprinted to the front at the 150m and won by 0.5 length over 1400m at Sandown on 3 March, then ran a similar race for a 1.75 length win over 1300m at Bendigo on 27 March. He’s had a 5 week break and racing back from the city he will be very hard to beat.

Each Way

Rose Of Sebring (Warrnambool Race 10 No. 10):

Race 10, number 10 and barrier 10. This three-year-old Sebring filly trained by Ciaron Maher & David Eustace has two wins and three places from six starts. She resumed from a 26 week spell with a nice 0.75 length win over 1100m on a heavy track at Ballarat on 21 March, then was slowly away and chased steadily for 1.5, 1.25 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Ballarat on 11 April. She has a 3kg claim and looks a good each-way chance in this BM 64 handicap over 1300m.

Best Lay

Laybuy (Warrnambool Race 5 No. 9):

This four-year-old Savabeel gelding trained by Michael Moroney at Flemington is the early favourite in this BM 64 handicap over 2000m. He ran 0.1 length 2nd in a BM 58 over 1700m at Warrnambool on 26 March, then drove had to get up on the line for a narrow win in a BM 58 over 2000m at Wangaratta on 15 April. This ia a tougher race with a capacity field and I rate others above him.

The rail is in the A position. There is rain forecast but the track should get no worse than Soft. The first race is at 12.45 pm Hong Kong time which is 2.45 pm AEST. Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 28th April 2024

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game
