Our Albury Horse Racing Tips for Fridays meeting.

The feature races is the Albury Gold Cup (race 7).

Cardiff (Albury Race 6 No. 5)
This four-year-old Snitzel gelding trained by Kody Nestor at Dubbo has three wins and two places from 15 starts. He resumed from a long 38 week spell with a first-up 1 length win over 1100m at Canterbury on 29 January, then led until headed at the 100m for 1.6 lengths 4th over 1100m at Canterbury on 26 February. He has lots of speed and the shorter distance and drop back to country racing makes him the likely winner of the Flat Knacker.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Silent Sovereign (Albury Race 7 No. 8):
This four-year-old Dalakhani mare trained by Tony McEvoy has three wins and two places from 13 starts and will line up for the 2021 Albury Gold Cup. As a three-year-old she was 2nd in the Group 3 SA Fillies Classic over 2500m so will handle the 2000m. Her latest 2 starts were 1.05 length 4th over 1600m at Flemington on 13 February, then 2.4 lengths 3rd in the Group 3 Matron Stakes over 1600m at Flemington on 6 March. Racing at country level she looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Miss Venezuela (Albury Race 4 No. 15):
This three-year-old Starspangledbanner filly trained by Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes is the early favourite in this BM 58 handicap over 1175m. She raced at this track and distance for 3.47 lengths 2nd in a maiden handicap on 4 February, then won a maiden plate by 1.73 lengths at this track and distance on 26 February. She is up against older more experienced runners and will find this race much tougher.

Key Comments Features are the $75,000 The Fitzroy Open over 1300m (race 6) and $775,000 The Archer over 1300m (race 7). The track is rated Soft and the rail is +2.5m the entire circuit. Best Bet Penman (Rockhampton Race 5 No. 3) Last start he led most of the way on a bog track before being overhauled late. On a better track he should be hard to beat. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 28th April 2024

Key Comments 8 race card with a few short favourites that look hard to beat. The best bet comes up in race 5 and is knocking on the door for a win. Best Bet Subrising (Ballarat Race 5 No. 6) Comes off the back of 2 second placings and Egan will ride from the wide draw. A lot to like about the past few runs and looks a better hope than the favourite who may just get too far back in this.

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Saturday 27th April 2024

Key Comments An 9 race meeting on the synthetic Poly Track where the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Pernell (Gold Coast Poly Race 8 No. 1) On a 7 day back-up after a win at this track and distance. Races really well on the poly track. Goes up in weight but can win again. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Greyzous (Gold Coast Poly Race 6 No. 12) This filly

Horse Racing Tips: WA Saturday 27th April 2024

Best Bet Hammarmill (Geraldton Race 3 No. 7) Came from well back for a 1.3 length win at this track and distance last start. Up in class but down in weight and looks a major contender. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Bayhara (Geraldton Race 6 No. 8) Came from last to win over 1600m last start
