Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Tambora (Ascot Race 3 No. 6)
This Puissance de Lune gelding trained by Darren Mcauliffe at Lark Hill has only had one start, but won that most impressively. He led all the way to win by 4.57 lengths in a 1500m maiden race at Ascot on 23 December. Drawn perfectly in barrier 1 and with William Pike to ride him he looks to have a bright future ahead of him and looks ready to win again.

Tinto Belle (Ascot Race 4 No. 6):
This five-year-old mare trained by Bruce Watkins has three wins and two places from 11 starts. She resumed from a 17 week spell for 0.5 length 2nd over 1000m at Ascot on 9 December, then took over late for a 0.55 length win over 1000m at Ascot on 23 December. Dhe has drawn wide in barrier 11 but is still worthy of an each-way bet.

Mood Swings (Ascot Race 8 No. 8):
This four-year-old War Chant gelding is the early favourite in this One Metro Win Graduation handicap over 1200m. At the end of last campaign he dropped out in the straight to finish 15.88 lengths 9th over 1300m at Belmont, then after a 22 week spell resumed to just miss and finish a close 2nd over 1000m at Ascot on 26 December. He has drawn wide and in an open race I am prepared to risk him.

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
