Super Rugby Pacific Semi Finals

Crusaders vs Chiefs

Friday 10/06/2022, 05:05pm AEST at Orangetheory Stadium, Christchurch, New Zealand

An all-New Zealand semi-final between the Crusaders and the Chiefs poses an interesting match-up, with the season series tied at one apiece. The Chiefs upset the Crusaders in their first encounter before the Crusaders made sure it didn’t happen twice. Ever since the Crusaders loss to the Waratahs in Sydney, they have been a force that has been focused on the task at hand. The Chiefs on the other hand have had a roller-coaster of a ride mixed with narrow losses and big wins, and very rarely was it in-between. The Crusaders are a strong and well-oiled team who will be ready for battle against their New Zealand counterparts who will need to lift to a new level to reach the Super Rugby final.

Crusaders to win and win well.

Predictions:

Tip: Crusaders ($1.29)

Line: Crusaders -7.5 ($1.90)

Margin: Crusaders 13+ ($2.25)

Bet: The Crusaders are a different league when they are on song, and this is the time of year when they take it up a notch. Crusaders -7.5 | 3u @ $1.90

Blue vs ACT Brumbies

Saturday 11/06/2022, 05:05pm AEST at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand

This is going to be a cracking game, despite the bookies not giving the Brumbies a chance. The Blues are very much an enthusiastic team who play with flair and play what’s in front of them, and I truly think their match against the Highlanders wasn’t a good preparation for this match as the Highlanders and Brumbies have very contrasting defensive and attacking patterns. When these two teams met in Canberra in Round 14, a drop goal was all that separated these teams and I expect it to be a similar encounter here, despite the Blue having the home-field advantage.

I expect this to be a tight affair but I think the Blues get the job done in the end.

Predictions:

Tip: Blues ($1.13)

Line: Brumbies +11.5 ($1.90)

Margin: Blues 1-12 ($2.90)

*Prices via Ladbrokes as of 09/06/22

Bet: Happy to take the Brumbies at the line here. They would have spent most of the week studying their opponents in preparation for this clash and I think the line on offer is too big. Brumbies +11.5 | 3u @ $1.90
