Sydney Sixers v Perth Scorchers @ SCG

BBL 10 concludes tonight when the two most successful teams in the history of competition play off for this years title.  The Sixers will be attempting to win the competition for the third time.  If the Scorchers are to win, it would be their fourth title.

These sides are no strangers to one another having met three times since Christmas.  The Scorchers thumped the Sixers in Perth on January 6 but the men in Pink have fought back strongly winning the last two encounters, including the qualifier final last Saturday night.

The Scorchers will be sweating on injury news in regards to their opening batsman Jason Roy.  He missed their do or die final on Thursday night against the Heat with an ankle injury.  His replacement Cameron Bancroft batted well for his 58 but lacks the power of Roy and would likely make way if the Englishman is ruled fit to play.

It is interesting to note that the Scorchers have only batter in the top ten leading run scorers list:  Colin Munro (441).  The strength of their batting lies in its evenness.  All six top order players are world class.

The Sixers on the other hand have two of the top three on the list.  Josh Philippe (499) and James Vince (442).   They have been heavy reliant on these two plus Daniel Christian in the middle order who has delivered time and time again for them this year.

However it’s a man who has been absent for much of the season due to international duty who I think represents value in the most runs market tonight.  Sixers captain Moses Henriques.  Finals are often tight low scoring games and it is Henriques that has proven himself in these pressure situations.  He is a very classy player and almost the forgotten man tonight.
