Big Bash Match Previews & Tips – New Years Day Game

The Renegades and Thunder clash for the second time this season on New Years Day.

It was a one sided affair when these two sides met on Boxing Day.  The Thunder posted a huge score of 209 batting first and have since made another monster score of 219 against the Stars proving that was no fluke.  In reply the Renegades were all out for a messily 80 – the second time they have failed to reach triple figures in BBL 10.

The Thunder are a clear favourite at $1.71 in the early head to head betting here and whilst I think that is rock bottom odds I have little confidence in recommending a bet on the Renegades at this point.  They put themselves in a winning position against the Sixers but were unable to close the game out with the ball.

Instead, I am recommending a bet on Aaron Finch to be the top run scorer for the Renegades in this game. The Renegades captain has been the top run scorer for his side in four of the past six games against the Thunder and has been threatening to deliver a big score. He was in very good form for Australia to start the summer and will be desperate to deliver a captains knock to keep his teams chances in BBL 10 alive.
