Big Bash Match Previews & Tips – Brisbane Heat v Adelaide Strikers (The Eliminator Final)

The business end of the season begins tonight with the Brisbane Heat hosting the Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba in the eliminator final.  The stakes are high – there is no second chance – its season over for the loser.

These teams met twice during the regular season and it was the Adelaide Strikers who came away with the points on both occasions.  In their most recent outing the Strikers posted a formidable total of 5/197 in Adelaide which proved to be too much for the Heat who after a good start collapsed badly to be all out 115.

However, it’s the Heat who I think bring the better form in here.  They have won 6 of their last 9 and have looked a different side in recent times.  Joe Burns and Marnus Labuschagne have strengthened up the middle order since their release from national duty but the main factor has been Chris Lynn returning from injury.

Lynn has made one score under 27 (17) in 8 games and there is no reason to suggest that his amazingly consistent run of form won’t continue tonight.  The Heat skipper will be desperate to make his presence felt and another big score will go along way towards his side moving through to the next phase.
