Big Bash Match Previews & Tips – 25th January

Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder will meet this evening for the second consecutive day and their last match of the regular season.

Both sides are in the fortunate position of controlling their destiny.  If they win, they are guaranteed a spot in the top five which means playing finals.  The loser will be relying on two of the Heat, Stars or Hurricanes to lose to make it.  The remaining games take place tomorrow.

It was the Strikers who secured the points yesterday in a surprisingly low scoring game.  Adelaide won the toss and elected to bat but only managed to post 159 on what looked a flat wicket.  However a strong bowling performance and some poor batting from the Thunder brought the Strikers back into the game and they ended up restricting the Thunder to 153 and securing the important four points.

We had some success backing the top competition run scorer Alex Hales on Friday night in the most runs market.  He smashed a superb century and after a failure yesterday he will be hungry for another big score.  Suggested bet is Alex Hales to make the most runs for the Sydney Thunder.
