The Hobart Hurricanes have slid to sixth on the table after losing four of their last five games and it doesn’t get any easier for them here coming up against the top of the table Sixers.
The Hurricanes started well with the ball on Friday night taking the first four Scorcher wickets for just 66 runs. However they could not remove Josh Inglis who made a quick fire 58 and were left with 179 to chase on a slow wicket.
They put in a commendable effort making 157 off their 20 overs but it was 22 short of what was required.
The Sixers had some problems of their own with the ball in the Sydney Derby. They ran into an inform Alex Hales on a flat Adelaide wicket and it was carnage. The Thunder made 232 – the biggest score of the competition! Like the Hurricanes, the Sixers were gallant in defeat making 186 but the damage had already been done.
Matthew Wade failed with the bat in his first game back from Test duty on Friday but I am backing him to bounce back strongly here. He has been a dominant force in this competition in recent times and a small bet on him to be the top run scorer for the Hurricanes is how I want to tackle this game.
