Week 3 is kicked off on Thursday Night US Time (10:20 am Melbourne time) by the Carolina Panthers v Houston Texans

Through two weeks, the Carolina Panthers have proven to be a surprisingly formidable unit, in particular on the defensive side where they are actually ranked number 1 through the first two rounds. Their opposition so far has been questionable at best, but you can only play who’s in front of you and they have so far exceeded what many thought would be a top 10-15 defence, that currently sits at number 1. Offensively, Sam Darnold has been okay but this is only his third start so far and he’s bound to improve with same familiarity to build.

The Panthers come up against the Texans who have now lost not only their starting Quarterback in Watson, but also Taylor who was playing fantastic as back up. Houston through two games rank dead last for defence, and only 20th for offence. They overachieved last week agains the Browns who have question marks over their legitimacy as a playoff contender and in week 1 they beat up the Jags who are currently the worst team in football. Even with this game being in Houston, they look absolutely no match for a Carolina team that is likely to hold this Texans offence to a touchdown at best. The Panthers continue to 3-0 and have no issue here.
