USPGA Major Championship
Backawinner followers nearly had a birthday last week with Dave Coupland ($85o) finishing one shot out of a frantic playoff win for Bland. In the Byron Nelson, our top pick Joseph Bramlett($1000) got to within two shots of ultimate winner K H Lee shortening to $20 late in the last round to allow Betfair punters to take out a big profit with plenty of gold remaining. This is of course our intention backing huge odds in Betfair allowing us to take out profits whilst keeping a large carrot if our choices win as they have numerous times over the last five years.
The PGA Tour and the European Tour come together for the second major of 2021 the PGA Championship. Possibly the worst field of a major (as 20 PGA club pros get a start), a number of very good players in form don’t get a go including our man Bramlett.
The Ocean course at Kiawah Island is the hardest course on the PGA Tour and the wind blows which doesn’t suit the average PGA Tour Player. However European tour players have a very good record here. The leaderboard at the last PGA championship here featured Rory McIlroy as a runaway winner and the top 20 players included few Americans. The Pete Dye is a monster 7876 yards (7202m) including a back nine over 4000 yards, a first, has a CR of 79.1 and a slope of 155, definitely the hardest on tour.
