Sentry Tournament of Champions
2021 PGA Tour year starts with the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Normally reserved only for winners of the previous years events, because of Covid and a reduced number of events, all 30 players who played the FedEx Cup finals and any event winners not in that 30 make up a final field of 42. To be held at the Kapalua course in Maui, Hawaii starting Friday morning. The Kapalua course 7596 yards, Slope 144, Course rating 77 is the only par 73 course on the PGA tour. Redesigned by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw to reflect the old shot values, the fairway grass was changed to allow players to run the ball into tight pin positions. Some greens have been enlarged or altered to allow more front positions.
