Last week, Backawinners showed real promise with Nicolai von Dellinghausen ($176 each way) charging to the lead. The Fried egg podcast described it thus…

“On an afternoon of twists and turns, overnight co-leader Paul had been in the driving seat on the back nine before a two-shot swing at the 15th handed his playing partner Marcus Armitage a two-stroke lead with three holes to play.

But as Armitage dropped three shots over the next two holes, Paul saved par at the 17th to find himself tied for the lead as he made his way to the 18th.

And the German coolly slotted in his difficult 15-foot birdie try from the fringe at the last to deny Paul Waring and Nicolai von Dellingshausen a play-off.”

Still a $44 winner, the place.

But our big go was 16 year old Minsol Kim ($570) a young Korean amateur who shot 64 in round one and still had a winning chance with nine to go. You will hear much more from her once she leaves school !! However it’s doubtful we will get $570 again.

The last few weeks we have been chopped off in the finishes, but consistent winning weeks suggest a big dividend is looming.

Bet365 prices first, in parenthesis. Mine second

4 Aces- (2.87)-$2.75

Cleeks -($34)-$50

Crushers-($4.75)-$9

Fireballs-($5)-$4.50

Hi Flyers-($18)-$13 *

Iron Heads ($34)-$45

Majesticks-($21)-$17 *

Punch-($15)-$100

Smash-($9.50)-$11

Stingers-($9.50)-$13

Torque-($21)-$26

Niblicks-($34)-$10*

So based on this the only teams even worth a look are the Hi Flyers ($18) lead by Phil Mickelson always hard to beat in Matchplay, the Majesticks ($21) lead by Lee Westwood and the Niblicks lead by Hudson Swafford who has been underwhelming in his own efforts but Peter Uhlhein, James Pinot and Turk Pettit look like comers to me so the $34 each way for them seems the only bet with a saver on the 4 Aces who on form should bolt in.
