A win last week, but as it turned out a very small compensation. Soreness Kjeldsen ($276) was always in a striking position, but did not look like challenging Dean Withnell who I had tipped many times, but sadly not this week. He gained his first DP World Tour win. Anne van Damme and one other birdied the last to cut our dividend from $69 to $17.50 as a result of a four way tie for fifth!

Meijer Classic
The LPGA play the Meijer LPGA Classic this week heads to Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Blythefield Country Club,the famous Old course designed by William Langford and Theodore Moreau is now at full stretch 6859 yards (6272m) par 72 with a CR of 73.4 and a Slope of 133. The ladies will play at a length between 6400-6600 yards.

US Open
The US Open takes centre stage at the fabulous George Thomas designed LA Country Club The now par 70 course measures 7236 yards (6570m), has a slope of 143 and a course rating of 75.7, but these figures will be dwarfed as a result of the very deep and penal rough lining all fairways and greens. Gil Hanse, Jim Wagner and Geoff Shackleford have set the Course up for the Open. One of the great features I found when I played it were the bunkers appered to be greenside, but were often 30-50 metres short, great camouflage. Another feature is the houses adjoining of the rich and famous including the Playboy mansion of Hugh Hefner on the 5th fairway.
