Championship at Leopard Creek (Euro Tour)
The PGA Tour has a rest due to Covid issues and the loss of a few events. Our $1000 success last week Robert Streb can browse in his glory for a couple of weeks.
The European tour flies to Leopard Creek, at Malalane on the border of Kruger National Park in north eastern South Africa to play the Alfred Dunhill Challenge. The Gary Player designed course is rumoured to be the most beautiful course in Africa and whilst short at 6728 yards is a tough par 72, rated 74 SSS. The annual event has a numbe4 if players who regularly play well here and this will influence potential bets.
On Betfair, I thought there was a lot of value here.
George Coetzee-$34 always plays well on Bermuda
Johannes Veerman-$44 moving up the ladder quickly
Richard Sterne-$60 always dangerous in SA.
Jonathon Caldwell-$230 Really seems to have found his way and plays well here.
Jaco van Zyl-$250 another local with a good record at Leopard Creek
Lucas Bjerregard-$220 well down in class from the Masters
Neil Shietekat-$310 local solid performer
David Drysdale-$220 unfortunate runner up here a few months ago
Casey Jervis-$260 Wunderkind Won pro tourney at 16, now 17
Joe Long-$1000 British Amateur champ. Not a big step up
Anton Karlsson-$1000 way overs experienced performer
Let’s hope our $1000 run continues
Andalusia Open de Espana (LETour)
The LPGA also has a bye and attention is drawn for the ladies to the Japan tour and the Ladies European tour which probably represents more known value on Betfair. However the women’s market is very thin so there won’t be many tipped this week. The event the Andalusian Masters is played on Valderrama the famous course designed by Robert Trent Jones over an approximately 6400 yard very tight par 71, with a slope of 147 and a CR of 76.1
A very thin market on the LET on Betfair, Azahara Munoz second favourite at $6.60!
I did find a few with little chance but over the odds. Bet with trepidation.
All the best.
