Gold Edition Plate 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Abounding should be hardest to beat in this field. Has the tough draw to overcome but does find the right race and has been in very consistent form. Show Me Mercy should get a gun run from barrier 6 and be hard to hold out. Defiant Spirit has a slightly awkward draw to overcome but looks well placed. Deep Respect has Orman in the saddle and can give a bold sight while Spirit Of Mac will do no work from the barrier.

Maps well from the draw and has solid place hopes in a field of this depth.

Will need luck from the barrier but going along well and this race suits. Hard to beat with Maloney in the saddle.
4. Deep Respect (7)
Ticking along well and should get a tow into the race from barrier 7. Brings in open company form and looks well placed in this field.
5. Bold Comic (9)
Prefer others.
6. Show Me Mercy (6)
Nicely placed in this field. Hasn’t missed the placings so far to date and should give this race a shake. Can get a nice run from the draw and prove hard to hold out.
7. Spirit Of Mac (1)
Maps to do no work and has been around the mark this prep.
8. Capital Chase (5) – SCRATCHED
9. Abounding (10)
Has been around the mark all prep and has a very consistent record. Well placed in this field and just needs a pinch of luck from the barrier to prove hard to hold out.
10. Tiger Shark (15)
Has been around the mark this prep but does have a very tricky draw to overcome. Good enough to win.
11. Glass Of Rose (2)
Can’t have.
12. Mixed Spice (13)
Prefer others.
13. Rubaahy (11)
This looks too tough.
14. Avone (14)
Good win last start but much harder here. Leaning to others.
