Track: Good Weather: Fine

Two colts, four geldings and one filly make up the seven horse field for this years Geelong Classic, a key lead up race for the VRC Derby and Crown Oaks.  The Chris Waller trained Dulcet was impressive breaking his maiden at Sale last start and is the warm favourite.  Served Cold returns to the scene of the crime of her maiden win and is next elect.

1. Waverley

His run was good two back in the Derby Trial, then just got way too far back on a day where it was hard to make ground last time out at Randwick.  This is easier.

2. Sacred Eagle

Was a good run here two back behind Bon Mistress who has since run well at Group level.  Chance.

3. Dulcet

Loved his run first up at Bendigo when charging late for second.  Looked a coming winner off that and dually took care of his maiden at Sale last start.  Not surprised to see him favourite here.

4. Kosgei

Was second in 64 grade two back at Sandown, then never came on last start at Flemington.  Not sure what to make of him.

5. Nondisclosure

Settled on speed and kept fighting to win his maiden at Kembla Grange last start.  Think he will settle third the fence in this and be given his chance.  Right stable / rider!

6. Declared Innocent

Safely held last start.  Not here.

7. Served Cold

Was heavily backed at Flemington last start coming off a dominant maiden win here two back.  Key winning hope with Shinn in the saddle.
